SUMMARY: Provides organizational accountability and leadership for the following clinical areas: Nursing, Cardiac Rehabilita! tion, Pharmacy, Surgery, Swing-bed, and Employee Health. Provides organizational leadership utilizing the framework of the operational plan, financial objectives and performance improvement goals as defined by Avera Hand County Memorial Hospital and Medical Clinic/Avera Health. Partners with the Avera McKennan resources to ensure the highest standard of care and efficient operation of the assigned departments.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program is strongly preferred. Graduate from an approved nursing program is acceptable.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
- Two to four years management exper! ience or three to five years progressively responsible acute c! are experience preferred.
- Licensed as a registered nurse in South Dakota and/or meeting the requirements of multi-state licensure required.
