We are on the lookout for a dynamic and proactive Restaurant Manager to oversee our extremely busy restaurant in Christchurch City. We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week with a pay rate between $28.00- $30.00 p/h.
You will be responsible for the below list of duties:
- Taking responsibility for the business performance of the restaurant
- Analyse and plan restaurant sales and profitability
- Maintain budget and employee records
- Estimating consumption of food stock and arranging ready availability of fresh food materials
- Maintaining records of safe stock levels of raw materials to ensure uninterrupted supply.
- Taking random customer feedback to assess their satisfaction regarding customer-service.
- Ensure that all employees adhere to companys policy and uniform standard
- Take reservations, greet guests and handle all phone orders
- Evaluate health and safety practices against business standards and ensuring current NZ food standard compliance being met.
- Ensuring dining facilities comply with health regulations and are clean, functional and of suitable appearance
- Plan menus in consultation with chefs as per customer feedback on different dishes
- Organizing marketing activities, such as promotional events and discount programme
- Selecting, training and supervision of servers and kitchen staff and scheduling their weekly work hours.
- Look after Facebook marketing and distribution of weekly flyers for the restaurant specials and discounts.
- Manage Weekly ordering, arranging the purchasing and pricing of goods according to budget - Material handling and ensuring safe storage of goods.
- Check the quality of the deliveries of food.
- Preparing and presenting sales and staff reports.
- Total receipts and balance against sales, deposit receipts, and lock facility at end of day
- May take reservations, greet guests and assist in taking orders.
- Prepare cash drawers and provide petty cash as required.
- Managing supplies such as tableware, kitchen tools, equipments, utensils and other cleaning items, etc.
- Maintaining good relationships with customers and staff and resolve any issues that might arise.
- Comply with health and safety regulations and ensure that the staff and customers adhere to the same
- Identify faults and help or assist in arranging for maintenance of tools and equipments as required from time to time
Ideally you will have the following attributes

- A current General Managers Certificate with LCQ is preferred but not mandatory
