Description: Sanford Health is at present looking to employ RN - PACU/Cath Lab (FT) - Sanford Aberdeen Medical Center right now, this occupation will be placed in South Dakota. Full-time positions, 64 - 80 hours per pay period working as a Registered Nurse in PACU/Cath Lab at Sanfo! rd Aberdeen Medical Center. This position will require working various shifts to include weekend rotation.
The nurse will be responsible for patient admission, medication reconciliation, patient recovery, patient transport, acute pain management, post-operative education, and patient discharge. The Registered Nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care. The nurse assumes the responsibility for the outcome of nursing care during a specified work period. The nurse receives assistance from the full scope of nursing expertise. The nurse has knowledge of and utilizes appropriate age-related patient protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of all ages of patient in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit/Same Day Surgery Center.
Following a competency based formal orientation, competent performance in all aspects is expected. Refer to department specific self assessment checklist.
The RN function! s within the scope and standards of nursing practice as outlin! ed in the South Dakota Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules. The Sanford Nursing Practice recognizes the current Scope and Standards of Practice and the current Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as published by the American Nurses Association as the foundation for nursing care delivery.
When students are providing patient care, treatment, and/or services as a part of their training, any/all employees may be asked to supervise the students.
Required Skills
Basic Life Support, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required. Currently licensed with the applicable State Nursing Board and/or possess multistate licensure privileges as required by position.
Required Experience
Graduation from a NLN or AACN accredited nursing program is strongly preferred. Graduate from an approved nursing program is acceptable. Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
