GHG is looking for a Licensed Dentist to provide services at the Indian Health Services, Kyle Health Center, located in Kyle, South Dakota.
Place of Performance: Indian Health Services, Kyle Health Center, Kyle, South Dakota 57752.
Work Schedule: Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with the exception of the 1 st Thursday of each month, when the clinic is closed for administrative work. The average workload of a Dentist is approximately 10 hours per day, which includes clinical care and medical records work. There is some variability of daily and weekly hours based on workload, emergency cases, scheduling of cases and staffing. In general, the days are hours worked are negotiable.
Description of Services: The Dentist shall provide dental health services to the Indian patients of the Kyle service Unit.
Major Duties (includes but it is not limited to):
The Dentist is required to provide emergent, restorative dental health care and controls oral health services to patients according to ! I.H.S./Tribal priorities.
The dentist will provide clinica! l diagnosis, evaluation, studies and treatment services of professionally acceptable quantity and quality in accordance with sound public health practices.
The Dentist is required to provide oral and radiographic examinations and diagnosis, restorative care, oral surgery and limited removable prosthodontics care.
The Dentist is required to the treatment of unerupted and impacted teeth, alveoloplasty, biopsy, incision and drainage-intraoral, closed reduction TMJ, suturing of traumatic wounds and other services within their scope of privileges.
The Dentist is required to provide professional information and education services to patients and health service workers as appropriate.
The Dentist is required to provide data, reports and other information as required for dental program accountability, evaluates resources and staff performance within the scope of position accountability and acts in accordance with performance standards.
The Dentist is required to! provide evaluation and complete management of patients to both inpatients and out patients as required including all necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Appropriate records will be maintained in performance of care consistent with JCAHO requirements.
Period of Performance: From 7/17/2013 through 8/27/2013 , and may be extended upon acceptable performance and all necessary state reviews and approvals.
Position Requirements/Qualifications :
License/Certifications:
Must have a current, unrestricted Dentist license in one of the 50 US states or territories.
Must have valid CPR or BLS cards.
Must have current DEA certification.
Current Malpractice Insurance is desired.
Proof of current physical examination (within the past 2 years) with current immunizations for MMR and DT (measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria and tetanus).
Education: Must have graduated from an accredited U.S. or Canadia! n Dental School with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctorate o! f Dental Medicine (DMD).
Required Experience: Must have at least 1 year of experience.
Background Check: Background check and fingerprints will be conducted in order to obtain security clearing.
