We are looking for a friendly, positive, outgoing veterinarian (new grad or experienced) interested in practicing aggressive high quality emergency medicine.
Interest in small animal internal medicine ! a plus.
Work 3 days a week with an attractive compensation package. We are 90% small animal emergencies, 5% equine emergencies mainly lacerations and colics (surgical referral center 30 min away) and 5% bovine emergencies mainly spring OB work and dehydrated calves.
We are a haul in facility only. Experience in large animals is not necessary as long as you are willing to learn.
We added a 2800 sq ft addition in 2005 with 6 exam rooms, a spacious small animal surgery, and new treatment and ICU areas. Our facility is equipped with cbc, chem, xray, digital xray, pulse ox, EKG, blood pressure, IV pumps, in floor heat in cages, endoscopy, tonometer, a small animal ultrasound machine, an equine ultrasound machine, and gas anesthesia for both small animals and equine.
If you like to do small animal orthopedics we are set up for it but it is not required. However, we have an ortho drill, plates, pins, external fixator hardware, TPLO equipment etc! .
We are located in the beautiful Black Hills of Sout! h Dakota close to Mount Rushmore. The area provides excellent: hiking, camping, mountain biking, fishing, hunting, water skiing, rock climbing, ice climbing, snow skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, trail riding and rodeo. If you enjoy the outdoors you will love it here!! Rapid City has a population of 70,000 with the surrounding area of about 130,000. Rapid City offers wonderful affordable places to live with a low crime rate, great schools, numerous churches, excellent community events such as: concerts, symphonies, theater, movie theaters, horse shows, city league sports, great fitness centers and yoga studios. We have college sports events, a semi pro hockey team and the Black Hills Stock Show (a large regional event).
