The IIE Varsity College, Waterfall Campus has a Lecturer: Application Development Security (Independent Contractor) vacancy for the School of IT.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Ideal
- Honours degree in Information Systems/ Computer Science
Alternatively
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems/ Computer Science.
Minimum Work Experience Requirents:
- Lecturing experience in programming.
- Experience working with any of these frameworks Angular +, React, Vue
- Familiarity with compliance and operational security.
- Ability to Identify threats and vulnerabilities in webapp code bases.
- Creating applications that adhere to application security requirements and regimen.
- Identity management and access control knowledge
- Knowledge of the following concepts:
- HTTP Security considerations
- Anti-Patterns and Positive patterns
- Authentication and session management
- Cross -Site scripting defence
- Cross-Site Request Forgery Defence and Clickjacking.
- SQL and other Injection attacks.
- Safe file upload and File input-output.
- Logging, Error handling and Intrusion Detection
- NoSQL database technologies i.e., MongoDB, Google Firebase
- Application program interfaces
- Git and GitHub
- Work experience as a software developer/ web developer/ application developer/ programmer
- The candidate must have worked within the tertiary institution so that they understand what students will experience of tertiary institutions and what is expected from them.
- The candidate must have a solid understanding of academic skills and how to assist the students to incorporate these skills into their studies.
Working Conditions:
- Availability to lecture Part-time during the week, between 8am – 5pm on campus.
- Provide a student support function through consultations, where necessary.
- Grade all assessments for assigned classes.
- Please note that this is an Independent Contractor role.
