GHG is looking for Registered Nurse to provide services at the Operating Room and the Surgical Clinic at the Rosebud Indian Health Service, Rosebud, South Dakota.

Work to be performed at: Surgery Department at the Rosebud Indian Health Service Hospital (IHS), Rosebud, South Dakota, 57570.
Facility Information : The Rosebud Service Unit is a 35 bed comprehensive medical/surgical hospital located in Rosebud, South Dakota, with active obstetric and pediatric departments, the Rosebud IHS Hospital offers a full range of services, including dental, vision, and 24 hour ambulance services. The hospital and several field clinics are staffed by 11 physicians, nurse/midwives, and physician assistants. An optical department and dental care are also offered. The hospital is the primary source of health care for the Rosebud Sioux people, who reside across 20 communities, some of which lie outside the boundaries of the Reservation.
Work Schedule: Night shifts of no less than 8 hours and no more than 12 hours shifts. On call and call back may be requir! ed. Full-time status with company paid medical benefits, PTO a! nd holidays.
Description of Services (includes but it is not limited to): The RN will access the biophysical, psychosocial, educational, spiritual, and cultural needs of medical surgical and pediatric patient in accordance with established unit patient care standards. Plan nursing care for patient utilizing the nursing process and in accordance with established unit standards. Initializes treatments, medications, emergency and measures as prescribed by the physician, such as medications, treatment, and procedures and intravenous fluids and blood transfusions. Documentation of observation, nursing intervention, therapeutic measures administered and patient response to treatment or nursing care according to unit standards. Operates specialized equipment such as resuscitating units, cardiac monitors, ventilators, cardiac defibrillators, pulse oximeters, infusion pumps, warning devices, single and multi-lumen central lines. The RN will also be responsible for eq! uipment checklists. Consult with primary care providers and other healthcare professionals, coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic regimens for patient. Provides family and patient education, including counseling
Period of Performance: From 02/21/2014 through 05/31/2014 and it may be extended upon acceptable performance and all necessary state reviews and approvals.
Position Requirements/Qualifications:
License: Must have a current RN license in any of the 50 US States or territories.
Education: Must have a graduated an accredited Registered Nurse program. Master Degree is preferred.
Certifications: Must possess and maintain ACLS and PALS . This is a mandatory requirement.
Skills Checklist: All RNs must complete a skills checklist.
Experience: Must have at least 1 year of experience.
Language Skills: Must speak English proficiently.
Citizensh! ip: Must be a US citizen or a US Permanent Resident (Green Card hol! der).
