Various shifts from 7am-9pm with an occasional weekend shift and holidays.
This role supports the work of th! e patient unit by performing various tasks related to the material/physical support of the unit. These include, but are not limited to, routine housekeeping, supply management, and patient transport. The Patient Support Representative has knowledge of and utilizes appropriate age-related patient care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of infants through geriatric patients. This position may have access to medication storage areas in order to stock secured items.
The Patient Support Representative is responsible for procedure setup; cleaning in the O.R.; terminal cleaning and disinfecting of equipment; and turnover of the operating rooms in a safe manner following established standards and practices. The Patient Support Representative is responsible for the duties related to transportation of patients to and from the operating room.
Following a competency based formal orientation, competent performance is expected. Refer to departmen! t specific self-assessment checklist for specifics. Must be ab! le to work with growth and development needs of all client populations.
When students are providing patient care, treatment, and/or services as a part of their training, any/all employees may be asked to supervise the students.
