Dentist - (Dentistry) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 08/19/2013Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
The Indian Health H! ospital in South Dakota is in need of a General Dentist for their outpatient clinic. The contract would begin as soon as the credentialing process is complete and will continue for 3 months with the possibility of extending. The hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm. The Dentist will see all ages and provide dental restoration, simple extractions, and consult with the other staff Dentists on surgical procedures. Any state Medical license will be accepted for this assignment.
General dentists (locum tenens) diagnose, prevent and treat problems associated the mouth, such as plaque decay, cavities, and the repair of fractured teeth. They are usually the first point of contact for patients with oral health concerns, referring them to specialists such as endodontists when needed. Dentists are trained to use a wide variety of medical equipment, such as x-ray machines and drills, and are able to diagnose and treat a plethora of oral conditions.
Required ! Qualifications
DEA and BLS required prior to start date. Must be comfortable with all ages.

The city is the tribal headquarters of the Oglala Sioux Tribe on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and the eighth-largest reservation in the United States. The community of Pine Ridge was established in 1889 in the southwest corner of South Dakota which borders with Nebraska. There is a huge variety of plants and animal life, including a type of endangered ferret and mammal fossils dating back to the Oligocene era.
