SUMMARY: Designs processes which assure compliant billing processes are executed throughout each specialty within Avera Medical Group Specialty Clinics. Creates a plan to provide ef! ficient, high quality revenue cycle services which benefit patients and providers. Develops and directs a team of revenue cycle supervisors. Assesses day-to-day quality of all revenue cycle services provided to patients and assures that services is provided in excellent fashion. Creates plans to prepare for ongoing regulatory changes. Provides direction to physicians, clinic managers, and patient account services team relative to charge capture, coding, documentation, charge entry, account follow up, account phone service, and overall process flow.. Provides coaching to team members relative to expectations, successes, and challenges. Creates a sense of teamwork between clinics, front and back-end billing services team members. Directs demographic input, coding, physician compliance audit,, charge entry, cashiering, posting, denial mangament, account follow up, database setup, and phone service. .
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include interv! iewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees;! planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors Degree or 5 to 10 years of senior business office management experience required.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required. Certified Coding Auditor preferred.
- Experience directing all operations and supervisors within a large central revenue cycle office (coding and follow up)setting preferred.
- Detailed coding and compliance knowledge covering the following specialties: adult medicine hospitalists, intensivists, radiology, general surgery, breast surgery, psychiatry, psychology, oncology, hematology, pediatric specialists, vascular and stem cell transplant, radiation oncology, ophthalmology, occupational medicine, perinatology, neonatology, pulmonary medicine, dermatology,gastroenterology, nephrology, hepatology, internal medicin! e, rheumatology, neurosurgery, and physical medicine and rehabilitation; and provider based billing.
