SUMMARY: P repares for surgical procedures, directly assists the surgeon during procedures, oversees aseptic techniques of all personnel involved! directly in the technical aspects of the surgical procedures and assists with clean up following surgical procedures. Assists with sterile processing of surgical equipment and procedures and the cleaning/packaging and sterilization of surgical trays and equipment for the facility. Acts as a resource to the patient care areas for the placement and location of all equipment and supplies for nursing and surgery departments.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Satisfactory completion of an Operating Room Technician program preferred.
