REGISTERED NURSE
STATUS: PRN
DEPARTMENT: Same Day Surgery
DUTIES: Completes admission interviews and establishes nursing priorities with patient’s plan of care. Receives, transcribes, and executes physician orders and communicates to others, as needed, for continuity of care. Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or hospital policy including instruction to the patient, family and others, as identified. Administers prescribed medications and treatments and patient specific cares to patient in accordance with approved nursing techniques. Observes patient, records significant conditions and reaction! s, and notifies supervisor or Physician of patient’s conditi! on and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents throughout the progression of care. Other duties may be assigned.
Education and/or Experience
Graduate of an approved Registered Nurse Program. Previous experience desirable. Holds or is eligible for current licensure in the State of South Dakota. CPR required. ACLS required.
