U. S. Citizenship DUTIES:
The Sioux Falls VA Health Care System is currently recruiting for a Part Time (48 hours per two (2) week pay period), Permanent , Registered Nurse (RN), Community Living Center, CLC2 . This position will be located in the Extended Care & Rehab Service Line. As a Registered Nurse, CLC 2, you are responsible for the following duties to ! include, but not limited to:
Provide nursing care to patients ! in the CLC setting
Provide nursing care in other patient care areas, as assigned.
Excellent clinical and customer service skills.
Function and work in a safe manner, to include but not limited to, infection control and operation of equipment.
Patient safety, confidentiality, and good customer service is paramount in all care provided.
Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability.
Strong organizational skills.
Demonstrate skill/knowledge/ability to perform treatments, procedures and utilize equipment appropriate to assigned duties.
Self-motivation and ability to function independently as well as a member of the team.
NOTE: Assignment to other areas of the service line, medical center, or other CBOC's may be required.
The RN reports to the EC&R CLC 2 Nurse Manager and works in collaboration with his/her assigned team, however, assignments may be made to other areas for purposes of cro! ss coverage.
Work Schedule: The tour of duty for this position is primarily Night shift. Evening shift will also be required. Rotating shifts will be required, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays will be required. Day shift may be required.

Basic Requirements
Citizen of the United States.
Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Col! umbia. In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing! , possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing.
Must be proficient in spoken and written English.
Applicant's education and length of nursing practice (experience) will be considered by a Nurse Professional Standards Board in determining the grade and salary of the applicant selected. The recommended salary may be at any point in the range listed for this vacancy. Experience as a RN will be evaluated to determine if the experience is of an acceptable level of quality with regard to the following four dimensions of nursing: Practice, Professional Development, Collaboration and Scientific Inquiry. Each dimension of practice has criteria that demonstrate essential core competencies for VHA Nursing Personnel. The criteria are as follows:

Education/Experience Minimum Requirements:
Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, no experience.
Nurse I Level II - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 1 year of experience, or an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelor's degree in a related field and no experience; or a Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) and no experience.
Nurse I Level III - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 2-3 years of experience, or an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelors degree in a related field and approximately 1-2 years of experience; or a BSN with approximately 1-2 years of experience, or a Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN and no experience.
Nurse II - A BSN with approximately 2-3 years of experience, or A! DN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelors degree in a related field and ! approximately 2-3 years experience or a Master's degree in nursing or related field with a BSN and approximately 1-2 years experience, or a Doctoral degree in nursing or meets basic requirements for appointment and has doctoral degree in a related field with no experience.
Nurse III - Master's degree in nursing or related field with BSN and approximately 2-3 years experience or Doctoral degree in nursing or related field and approximately 2-3 years experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Periods of long standing, repositioning, assisting patients and transfers. Occasional lifting of moderately heavy objects and pushing/pulling of patient transport carts. Long periods of ! sitting at a computer station. Rigid deadlines and the need for high degree of accuracy, high stress situations, and the ability to adapt work plans based on patient status.
