The VA Black Hills Health Care System (VA BHHCS) is located in the beautiful Black Hills of western South Dakota, where we are known for our blue skies, pine forests, rich history, moderate climate and friendly western hospitality. The VA BHHCS provides primary, surgical, behavioral health, community living center (nursing home care), and domiciliary (residential rehabilitation treatment program - RRTP) care for Veterans residing in western South Dakota and portions of Nebraska, North Dakota, Wyoming and Montana. Care is delivered through the Fort Meade (near Sturgis) and Hot Springs VA Medical Centers, as well as through a numb! er of community-based outpatient and rural outreach clinics. V! KEY REQUIREMENTS

U. S. Citizenship

Full unrestricted Licensure, Certification, or Registration required

Must pass pre-employment examination

Designated and-or Random Drug Testing required

Background and-or Security Investigation required

English Language proficiency required

DUTIES:
Duties include providing primary care to a cohort of veteran patients in an outpatient clinical setting. This will include taking medical histories, providing physical examinations, assessing recent medical studies, adju! sting current medications, initiating new medical therapies, and reques! ting specialty care through consults for this panel of patients.

Hours:
Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm, Federal Holidays excluded

Relocation expenses will be reimbursed.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
U.S. Citizenship (Non-citizens may be appointed only if it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens.)

Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.

Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.

Must be board certified or eligible.

Preferred Experience:
1. Board Certification preferred but not required.

Special Consideration will be given to candidates with Board Certification in Occupational and/or Internal Medicine.
